Canadian licensing standards for DOs vary from province to province, and are constantly changing. Recently, the Federation of Medical Regulation Authorities of Canada passed a national standards agreement that will make it easier for DOs to become fully licensed in any province, but this, like other legislative processes, will take time. In the meantime, the Canadian Osteopathic Medical Student Association and the Canadian Osteopathic Association are actively lobbying provincial governments to allow unrestricted licensure for DOs.
